TIMES SQUARE RAINWALKERS

Our web site is currently divided into two areas.

The Times Square Photography area presents some of the early work that has been scanned.

The TRANSITION OF TIMES SQUARE area, which is currently closed, documents early activity beginning in 1997. This includes the demolition of many of the existing buildings on West 42nd Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue and a presentation of the preparation and movement of the Empire Theatre down West 42nd Street.

The Times Square Photo Project began in 1997. We have been photographing and presenting images of the Transition taking place in Times Square. Our archive has more than 10,000 images taken over the past eight years, covering a wide variety of stories; from the last remains of the pornography industry to the activity, energy, signs, lights, and bold advertisements that are synonymous with the new Times Square.

After many years of proposals, discussions and litigation West 42nd Street and Times Square has been transformed. We have documented much of the transformation with our photography. Support for the project comes from the sale of of prints and the licensing of images. Assignment work is also accepted.
